Fog results in 10 vehicle pile-up on Yamuna Expressway, 10 injured

Dense fog today resulted in a ten vehicle pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway, leaving more than 10 persons injured. SP (Rural) Ashok Kumar said that due to the fog around 10 vehicles collided on the Yamuna Expressway near sports city.The incident took place around 8 am. Around six persons were injured and admitted to hospitals. More pile ups at the same stretch were reported later in which some other persons suffered injuries, the police officer added.An eyewitness at the spot claimed that one person was apparently killed in the mishap.
Yamuna Expressway management said they have put up display boards for drivers to drive slow and use fog lights during bad weather.
Haryana govt hikes sugarcane prices

The Haryana government has announced a hike of 45 rupees per quintal in each variety of sugarcane. The announcement was made after Chief Minister, Bhupoinder Singh Hooda held talks with the agitating sugarcane growers yesterday. They were on strike and refused to sell sugarcane to the cooperative mills of the state. The Chief Minister said that State government has ensured highest ever prices of sugarcane as compared to other states for the last five years.

Indefinite strike called off in Kerala

In Kerala,the indefinite strike by a section of employees has been called off. The strike by pro-LDF organizations was called off early this morning after Kerala government decided to constitute a committee to study the implementation of the Participatory Pension Scheme for the employees .Chief Minister said that the scheme will be implemented from the 1st of April .
TN CM announces opening of 1,000 food outlets

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has announced the opening of 1,000 food outlets for the unorganised sector labourers in Chennai. In a press release, she said in the first phase, one food outlet per corporation ward will be opened. One Idli at a cost of one rupee, Curd rice at a cost of three rupees and sambar rice at a cost of five rupees will be served in these outlets.
