Assam Panchayat polls:Leaders from WB & Maharashtra to campaign for AIUDF

In Assam, today is the last date for filing of nominations for the second phase of Panchayat polls to be held on 6th February in 10 districts. Panchayat polls in the state will be held in 3 phases.The first phase of polls will cover 8 districts on 30th of this month while third and final phase will be held on 12th February. The scrutiny of the first phase of polls has already been concluded. The scrutiny of the second phase of nominations will be held tomorrow and the day after.Counting of votes for all phases will be held on 14th and 15th February. All political parties have intensified their campaign to woo voters for the first phase . Congress has announced party observers for polls and star campaigners are likely to kick-off polling campaign soon.The Asom Gana Parishad has formed three groups to monitor poll campaign. BJP has begun their campaigns with door to door visit to woo voters. Leaders from West Bengal and Maharastra will also arrive in the state to campaign for AIUDF candidates. The CPI and CPI-M candidates are also trying to attract voters. While the Congress is trying to woo voters on the developments that the state achieved during last 11 years, opposition parties highlighted price rise, corruption and law and order situation.
