Rahul emphasizes need to bring structural changes to empower common people

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today emphasised the need to bring structural changes to empower common people . Interacting with corporate leaders in New Delhi today Mr. Gandhi shared his vision with them saying alienation of minorities hurts the country's growth.

He said that the country has witnessed faster economic growth in the UPA regime as it greatly lowered tensions among communities and fostered harmony. Mr Rahul Gandhi urged the industry to broaden its economic vision beyond financial concerns and partner with the government to foster greater economic growth.

He urged the industry to be compassionate towards accommodating schedule caste, schedule tribes, minorities, dalits and weaker sections of societies for their welfare. On the speculations in the media about his becoming Prime Minister and his marriage, Rahul Gandhi dismissed them as hypothetical.

Addressing the concluding session of the CII meet senior BJP leader and leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jetly advocated for a development model that takes everybody along. He alleged that government is misusing the power and said that roadmap for the growth is missing.
CBI raids three Jh'khand MLA homes in connection with RS poll horse trading charges

In Jharkhand,the CBI is conducting raids at the houses of few MLAs in connection with charges of horse trading in 2010 Rajya Sabha polls. The case is being monitered by the Jharkhand High Court. Our Ranchi Correspondent reports that the houses of RJD MLA Janardan Paswan, JMM MLA Vishnu Bhaiya abd AJSU MLA Chandra Prakash Chaudhri are being raided at Ranchi, Jamtara and Pratappur. Our Correspondent also add that the CBI is probing the charges of horse trading of 2010 and 2012 at the behest of High Court orders. JMM MLA Sita Soren is absconding to evade arrest in connection with a case of abducting a witness of the horse trading case.

SC panel says six cases of extra-judicial killings in Manipur not genuine encounters

A Supreme Court - appointed committee probing six cases of alleged extra-judicial killings in Manipur informed the court today that these were not genuine encounters. A bench comprising Justices Aftab Alam and Ranjana Prakash Desai perused the committee's report which said none of the six cases qualify as encounters and they are fake. The panel, comprising former Supreme Court judge Santosh Hegde, ex-CEC J M Lyngdoh and a senior police officer said in its report that the victims, including a 12-year-old boy, did not have any criminal records.
The apex court had on January 4 decided to appoint the committee to hold an inquiry into the alleged fake encounter killings in Manipur. The bench said that appropriate directions will be passed on the basis of the panel's report on April 9.
