Prez to undertake 1 day visit to Chandigarh tomorrow

President Pranab Mukherjee will undertake a one day visit to Chandigarh tomorrow. He will address the convocation of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh. An official release says that Mr. Mukherjee will also present the Colours to Air Force Central Medical Establishment. The President's Colours or Standard is one of the greatest honors bestowed upon an Air Force unit or squadron in recognition of exceptional service rendered to the nation in war and peace.

TN CM announces ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh to family of CRPF personnel Perumal killed in Srinagar

Tamilnadu Chief Minister, Ms.Jayalalithaa has announced an ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees to the bereaved family of CRPF personnel Perumal who was killed in yesterday’s attack by terrorists on the CRPF camp at Srinagar.

In a press release today, the Chief Minister expressed her shock and deepest condolences to the family of Perumal who are based at Madurai.
Haryana: IGMSY scheme to be launched on pilot basis in Panchkul

In Haryana, Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana (IGMSY) a centrally sponsored scheme will be launched on pilot basis in Panchkula. Stating this today Director General, Women and Child Development Department, Sumita Misra said that under this scheme, pregnant and lactating mothers would be provided financial assistance of 4000 rupees for their health and nutrition improvement in three installments.

The first installment of 1500 rupees is given on second trimester of pregnancy that is on completion of six months of pregnancy, second installment of 1500 rupees at the end of three months of delivery and third installment of 1000 rupees is given to nursing mothers when the infant completes six months of age.

She said that an awareness generation camp regarding registration of beneficiaries, and implementation of this scheme would be organized soon.
Saint Hazrat Sufi Nizammuddin passes away in UP

Noted saint of sufi order Hazrat Sufi Nizammuddin died this morning in his native village in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. He was over 100 years. He belonged to Nizami Barakati sufi order and had lakhs of followers. His last rites will be performed in his native village Amardoha tomorrow after Friday prayers.
